I sometimes find it difficult to think of how I can be mindful. I’m not really into meditation and prefer to find other ways to bring more presence into my life.
I came across the LSW Mind Cards by Cognitive Hypnotherapist Lili Sinclair-Williams which looked like a great way to help me develop my practice. So, I purchased them to see how they might help.
About the LSW Mind Cards
The LSW Mind Cards are comprised of 45 cards which have been designed to help you become more mindful in terms of how you think and feel. They aim to help you focus on the present and bring more positivity into your life.
The cards are divided into five categories:
The exercises in these cards are a good way to reflect on the way you’re living and whether there are ways you could be living differently in order to feel more satisfied with your life. The questions on these cards help you to think more deeply about the changes you might want to make.
Lili Sinclair-Williams explains that building rituals into your life can have a positive impact upon your wellbeing. They can help you to slow life down and really focus on your actions. Life can often feel like we’re going straight from one thing to the next. The activities in each card can be turned into a daily ritual!
These cards contain quotes to reflect upon. Even taking just 10 minutes out of your day to reflect upon these quotes can help you be mindful. Think about how the quote applies to your life at the moment. Think about how can you use the meaning of the quote to make changes and improve your life.
These cards encourage you to stop and take time to think about the things you’re grateful for. They help you consider the little things that happen during your day to help you create more happiness and wellbeing in your life.
These cards encourage you to carry out random acts of kindness, which can not only help to boost your mood but can also make a difference to the recipient.
How to use the LSW Mind Cards
We’re often so busy “doing” that we rarely take time for ourselves and our wellbeing. Even taking 5-10 minutes out of your day to use the cards can help because you’re taking time for you and investing in your wellbeing.
In order to help you be mindful, the cards are good to use on a daily basis. If you pick the same card twice then you can compare your latest answer with the one you gave last time.
This will help you see whether you’d answer in the same way or whether anything has changed in your life which means you’d give a different answer.
So make sure you take some quiet time out for yourself, perhaps at the beginning or end of your day. Shuffle the cards, pick one at random and take the action stated on the card.
Taking a look at the LSW Mind Cards
My favourite category of cards is ‘Journal’ as I enjoy writing down my thoughts and feelings.
I’d recently bought myself a journal, and although I can be guilty of over-thinking I find that writing down my thoughts and feelings is really beneficial to my wellbeing.
I’m looking forward to using these cards as part of my morning routine, to help set me up for the day.
So if you want to cultivate more presence and be mindful then why not get yourself these cards and see what changes you can make?
